Well a few days in and here I am, ready to admit I have been wrong. First things first, baby (unless you ARE a baby not yet born). He is closing down Guantanamo Bay (he doesn't have a plan for the detainees there, but don't worry, he's got a whole year..details detail details, sheesh!), enabling funding for international pro-abortion groups because we need to provide freebie choices all around (unless you ARE a baby not yet born), sitting down for his first presidential interview with Al-Arabiya television (nobody saw that coming), seeing his $819 stimulus bill through, all followed by a modest little celebratory cocktail party serving $100 per serving wagyu delicacy. I knew he'd come through with his ever-humble and sacrificial ways.
I think overall it's a nice start, I haven't been disappointed. And Nancy Pelosi was so gracious this week when she so rightly announced to the Republicans that 'hey, y'all LOST. So nanananana, we're the boss of you...'! Nice.
*I'm bringing back the Hurdy Gurdy Man this week, he's that special.

Toga Party Tomorrow - Denver!
*Edit: If it is true, that the podium is supposed to rise up from the floor, all I have to say is: be afraid.

(this is what happens when I sit at the computer too long!)
On a serious note, I read this on another blog (totally paraphrasing here): For all the scrutiny Cindy McCain has been under regarding how many houses her family has, at least that house was not built with other people's money....how much did this mega-shrine cost anyway?

Hillary's Big Adventure Or Obama's Grandmama
Given the alternative in the selective memory dilemma, I dunno. If I was playing along, I think I'd probably maybe for sure go with....Hillary's Big Adventure. Because it's just so darned exciting! It's all about fun fun fun, and I'm sticking with Hillary and Chelsea. Running down the tarmac, ducking, weaving, then hitting the ground with abandon to avoid being riddled with bullet holes by those big meanie snipers.
I didn't know it would get better than "It's 3 am. Do you know what your pastor's been saying...for 20 years?". And if you need justification, you can always mention your typical white grandma.
McCain's kind of a yawner lately. I'm not sure he'd be fun enough to have in the White House for four years. But you know how I am....

Colorful Candidates and Age Spotted Heads
Okay so it can't be all about the hair....because, sigh, if it were, then it would be all about thin white whispy old man
hair atop an age-spotted scalp. So there's nothing left to do but come up with another slogan. Slogans don't come as easily to me as they did to Darrin Stevens (Dick York, the first Darrin, yeah I did notice!). But then if I had Samantha around, I might be better at it too!
Okay so what to go with, what to go with....it's all about the war hero? Yeah, maybe. It's all about the old guy? The age spots? Hmmm....about the only thing I can conjure is this: It's all about the guy whose wife has the freaky deakiest looking eyes I've ever seen! It's just going to have to work for me, period.
Speaking of exasperating, I'm getting a lot sick and tired of hearing about the black candidate. I might be out to lunch
sometimes, but I do know a white momma when I see one. Aww I hate to say this, but if Obama is black then....Obama is white! He is! At least, he's as white as he is black. If I had married a black man, had a child who ran for President of the United States, I'd be hurt if I had to hear all the black hoopla day in and day out.

You'll Want To Be Seen With Me
Once again, my political muscle is showing. I got another personal email, and this one is from Senator Ted Kennedy. I opened my inbox and nearly dropped my jug of Wild Turkey on the floor! Here's what he said:
When I endorsed Barack Obama on Monday, I was also endorsing a candidate with the power to transform America.
As President Kennedy said in 1960, "It is time for a new generation of leadership."
This campaign is about a new generation of leadership today. A generation ready to be part of something bigger than themselves. A generation ready to change the country, and a generation ready to change the world.
I'm doing everything I can to elect Barack Obama. With less than a week before my state and 21 others make their voices heard, there is no time to lose.
Please join me by making a $50 donation now:......(and on it went)
I mean thinking in earnest!
And it came to me just like that. So I wrote back, and this is what I said:
When you endorsed Barack Obama on Monday, it sure did help him out on Tuesday! Hey, Ted, since you and I are clearly new buds, I wonder if you'd mind helping me out? As long as you're

Marrige Meme Time
^^That's for Jenny, she's blogging for Gus' Gang today! Maybe go sponser her, even $5 would do amazing things pooled all together!
3. We dated nine months before we were married....we were married nine months before our daughter Nicole was born ;-)
4. Okay, answering what you were thinking--no we didn't have a formal wedding. We were married when my parents were still 'feuding' after the divorce. Because my parents weren't speaking to each other, we threw up our hands. Told everyone to be at the courthouse on our wedding day. John and I never looked back! Eh, okay, I do wish I'd worn 'the dress' and one day maybe Kelly will take me to the bridal shop and pretend to be needing one, idk. Will ya, Kel? Let me lose that 15 I put on this year first!
7. I think we work very hard. I'm a stay home mom (soon to be home school mom to one) and as y'all know, I do data entry part time (all the time). My husand was promoted to business manager where he works, and teaches four nights a week at a local college. One day, hopefully soon, he can cut those days down by at least half. Okay, not Jon Bon Jovi, but better! (had to say that, Jon)
8. If you come round the house and hear "Tatey! Tatey Girl! Tate!" or "Don! Donald! Dondo! Hondo!" --no worries. That'd just be me and my Johnny Bonny talking to each other. Ooooh! I should do a fun giveaway and you have to post with your pet name!
Ms. Nancy Pelosi--oops comments are closed! Hmm!
Mr. John Edwards -- okay this one took forever and a DAY to get posted!

Excuse Me, Could You Please Pass The Notebook... and Hold The Losers?
My teachers always told me:
If you have something to say, share it with the whole class:
And always write notes on the back of your hand, don't bring in a whole notebook. Ooops, wait! That was my friend Mike!
