Given the alternative in the selective memory dilemma, I dunno. If I was playing along, I think I'd probably maybe for sure go with....Hillary's Big Adventure. Because it's just so darned exciting! It's all about fun fun fun, and I'm sticking with Hillary and Chelsea. Running down the tarmac, ducking, weaving, then hitting the ground with abandon to avoid being riddled with bullet holes by those big meanie snipers.I didn't know it would get better than "It's 3 am. Do you know what your pastor's been saying...for 20 years?". And if you need justification, you can always mention your typical white grandma.
McCain's kind of a yawner lately. I'm not sure he'd be fun enough to have in the White House for four years. But you know how I am....

Colorful Candidates and Age Spotted Heads
Okay so it can't be all about the hair....because, sigh, if it were, then it would be all about thin white whispy old man hair atop an age-spotted scalp. So there's nothing left to do but come up with another slogan. Slogans don't come as easily to me as they did to Darrin Stevens (Dick York, the first Darrin, yeah I did notice!). But then if I had Samantha around, I might be better at it too!
Okay so what to go with, what to go with....it's all about the war hero? Yeah, maybe. It's all about the old guy? The age spots? Hmmm....about the only thing I can conjure is this: It's all about the guy whose wife has the freaky deakiest looking eyes I've ever seen! It's just going to have to work for me, period.
Speaking of exasperating, I'm getting a lot sick and tired of hearing about the black candidate. I might be out to lunch sometimes, but I do know a white momma when I see one. Aww I hate to say this, but if Obama is black then....Obama is white! He is! At least, he's as white as he is black. If I had married a black man, had a child who ran for President of the United States, I'd be hurt if I had to hear all the black hoopla day in and day out.

I'm Ready For Change
That's what the subject line in my inbox read, anyway. And I open it and see it's from Barbra Streisand! She likes me a lot, I know because she emailed me about her change...I'm not sure I can support this, but I can try and talk her out of it. Don't do it, Barbra, noooooo!
Reading it has confused me a little. I realize she doesn't mean 'the' change. And so then I'm confused again. I think maybe she's running and I think "I'll be a pickle on a fishing line...I didn't know that!" But I continue and I see that aha...she just confused me, she's not running, she's not the democrats, when she said "I want to beat the Republicans....and I have never wanted to win so badly.." she probably didn't mean that literally. Babs? Right?
And given that everyone gets confused here and again, I'll give it to her. Like Courtney Love. I remember when she said this: I don't mean to be a diva, but some days you wake up and you're Barbra Streisand.
Totally, Courtney.
I mean, just the other day I woke up and I was Billy Graham. Life's like that. So if Babs says she wants to win, she just woke up that day and was the democratic candidate for President.
I feel her sincerity, and I don't judge that. I'm all over following what you believe in and misguided or not, Babs believes in hanging onto Bill standing with Hillary. You're cool with this, Hillary, right?
Below is the letter she wrote ME in its entirety. Making history is what it's all about, after all, and she included me. I think it's clear she likes my style. I didn't know I help Hillary make history, but you know, it's the humbles ones are always the last to learn.
Dear Stacey,
I want to beat the Republicans in 2008. I'm like you -- I'm ready for change. In all the time I have worked to help elect Democrats, I have never wanted to win an election as badly as this one.
I want a president who is principled, strong, and ready to lead from day one. That's why I'm joining Hillary's campaign -- because I think she has what it takes to beat the Republicans and to be a great president.
Although I'm proud to help her make history, I'm not supporting Hillary only because she's a woman. I'm supporting her because she's the most experienced candidate and will give us the leadership we need to move our country forward again. I know you feel as strongly as I do about winning in 2008 because you've been with Hillary every step of the way. She is relying on you to help her win. I want to join her in thanking you for everything you are doing to help Hillary make history. I am so proud to do everything I can to help her too.
Sincerely,Barbra Streisand

I'm Having Company! Yes Indeedy....
We're Coming to Missouri!
Nuh uhh! Who? Who's coming?! OMG OMG my mind is racing all over the place. Where will they stay? What can we find to do together? Will they bring the children--and if so, do they need Niki or Cody to babysit or shall we do family only things? Allergies? How about preferences--out to eat, in to eat? Typing, how long will they be in Missouri--am I going to need to take a few days off work? Gosh there's a lot of planning that goes into this headline--long before I even get to the heart of the message.
Ahhh, it's Hillary. Hillary is coming! Well, not Hillary herself, but Hillary's people. Here's the deal--she's sending her campaign staff to train people like me. She needs me. She even said so. See? Looky right here:
You're an important part of this campaign. And these trainings are a great way to get started organizing. I hope you can make it. I know Hillary can count on you. Thank you for all your support. Sincerely, Guy Cecil National Political and Field Director P.S. Here are the details on the Kansas City Training:
It goes on with the boring details, but you get the idea. I'm thinking, thinking, thinking--I'm an

Senator Barack Hussein Obama refusing to hold his hand over his heart AND refusing to say the Pledge of Allegiance.
This will help. But I can do better, I know I can! What, though? What? Hillary needs me, Bill's boyish and good-natured charm haunts me in my dreams....he'll need me too. Wait....I got this the other day......

I'm all about fairness, so in all fairness, you can click here and find a rundown of explainations. Decide for yourself, that's the way it should be! And when you consider they've been around a ton more people than the average bear, of course there'll be bigger death tolls than we see in our regular cookie-baking lives. But the ages and the manners of death, it's a freaking whole lottalittle alarming. That's all I'm saying....
Gosh I hope I win that receipt scanner/organizer. If I win...if I do, I'm sooo bringing that with me--I think she needs me!
Gotta run--I'm going down to the local restaurant here in town. I hear they're hiring dishwashers. And while dishwashers make the restaurant world go round, I also hear they get paid big. BIG. Then I'm off to train. After all, I am a one very slightly over-sarcastic Midwestern momma bear who is very afraid of what will happen if I don't speak up while I still can important part of this campaign!

Happy Birthday You Sassy Gal! / And Awards Day!
I received this in my inbox today.....
Dear Stacey,

The Mariuca Super Star Award, which symbolizes friends of the originator's ability to lift her up when she needed to be lifted. I think blog friends by in large are like that! This one, no doubt about it, my Texas Best Friend Duo: Bubba's Sis and USO Girl! They lift me when I need it. And they don't realize it but by being amazing friends to each other and showing that support on their blogs, they lift me and everyone else who reads it. It is proof that family is not blood, family is who you love and who loves you (can be blood, but not required!). I'm one of those who has made my family who I love, not blood--and I'm certain God's compassion is what drew me to love my friends like I do.
And Trinity, she blessed me with this one too! Thanks Trinity, you made my day! And I'm sooo excited about the giveway I won--just tell Gi to keep her hands out of my bag, please! (she's mailing these internationally so knowing Gi lives a few hours away and will be up in December, she chose to mail them to GiGi. How Gi got her to go with her scheme, I will never never know, but I will be monitoring this closely!)
Gi, Cat, Cheryl & Dawwwwwn are all four my dear friends (two of them I have been honored to know in person) and they all have put their confidence in our friendship this week in a personal way. And I know I say this a lot, but there's no better friend in the world than a friend who lets a friend BE a friend. And it's an honor to be here for you when you ask me to be. And even when you don't. You are all four dear to me and I'm honored to be your friend.

Excuse Me, Could You Please Pass The Notebook... and Hold The Losers?
My teachers always told me:
If you have something to say, share it with the whole class: And always write notes on the back of your hand, don't bring in a whole notebook. Ooops, wait! That was my friend Mike!
