Beautiful Pink, Beautiful Survivors

Beautiful are those who fought and didn't win either (but I happen to believe they're dancing in heaven laughing at that statement right now).

I'm crossing over my digi and my personal blogs right now...but for a very very good reason. I had the honor of being involved with some fantastic designers at Scrap Professor in putting together a Fight For The Cure digi collab. It turned out to be an absolutely stunning kit, check it out:

I think it's a lovely kit, would be perfect for the girl/ladies in your life. And if you know someone fighting breast cancer, I think it's a great way to support them. Our church family just lost a beautiful wife and mother to breast cancer this past Saturday. It hits close to everyone's lives, I know. By the way, all these papers and elements you see here for $5. 100 percent of the proceeds to the Susan G Koman Foundation--the designers all donated their time and Jolie at Scrap Professor donated time, talent AND the store in which to put this amazing collab. If you do purchase the kit, let me know and I'll email you a code for $3 off anything in my SP store.

The Day The Circus Came To Town

I've been around--just a ton of stuff going on with my digi, mostly. I've released three items this week, here are the previews:

I'm finally seeing a fairly large breakthrough with sales--I think my name is getting a little more known in the digi world, lol. I'm hoping all this hard work is finally about to pay off--knock on pressboard.

Cody had an invitational meet Friday in Parkville--he sucked eggs the first round. But he was fortunate enough to make the final two cuts and THEN he decided to make clean entries. He came in the final round at 12th and made his way up to 6th. What a cool ending it would have been had he started that last round with more points! Ahh well, he got a medal. It's all about the medal, right?

I've been keeping up with most of you in reader of by email, I haven't forgotten you. Balancing homeschooling, digi designing and parenting hasn't been easy on me...I honestly need a vacation! But, sigh, I don't see one in my near future.

Fall Is Just Around The Corner....

Okay okay maybe not. Alex and I are studying 'hooks' in composition, and I thought that title might make a good hook. If it made you come over from your Reader because you want to help me know where I am, it worked!!

I'm still working on the kids' digi scrapbooks and scanned one of my favorite pictures of Niki. She reminded me of a little Precious Moments figurine when she was about that age...so cute! So because I love this picture so much, I set out on a hunt for just the right background/elements. Nothing I saw suited me, both free and for sale. And because once I set my mind to something I exhaust all avenues before giving up, I decided to make my own!

Between teaching Alex, his independent worktime and while he ate lunch (two fried balogna sandwiches), I came up with this. I played around with the leaves until I got enough variation. Digi scrapping is quickly becoming my newest addiction, but I figure because I'm actually accomplishing something I needed (scanning all the old photos) it's okay. So long as I done get Alex teached up, shove laundry over to the wall and do the scissorwalk through the house to clear a path, no harm done.

I listed my Sheriff page last night (finally) on Digiscrap Depot and am fixing to list this one as well....so because I haven't done the scissorwalk yet, I'd best post the link and log off, and get a life!

The Sheriff Is In Town.....Updated With Hair

Okay okay, I got your angry emails. I'm going to show the hair now--all y'all are pushy this weekend! And....as suggested, I'm also using elements of my digiscrap creation, which has absolutely nothing to do with hair. But I love you so much I'm doing it anyway. I'm like that.

Angie did a wonderful job, she evened my layers, shortened them razed them and entertained me with funny stories from our whackedamazing family I am honored to be part of! I joke about them but they're an amazing group of people. As my nieces and nephews marry and begin their own families, it makes getting together just that much more fun! After she was finished, she gave me my marching orders: Come at least four times a year, Aunt Stacey...and please stop cutting your own hair. And I, like last year, promised to do just that!

And without further adeiu, here is the hair:

Howdy! Here's another Stacey-created quick page for y'all. Tell me what you think of it (honestly, I can take it!) and most importantly, enjoy! To download, click here!

A Valentine Page To Share

I put this digiscrap page together with an old vintage card John had and I wanted to share the page with my digiscrapping friends (sort of an informal freebie). You can download this HERE if you want to put your own picture into the frame (with your own hubby, of course...). I haven't used the file-sharing before, so I'm crossing my fingers, hoping it works. If you try it, I'd love to see it.

PS--this is at the bottom of my blog now, but I don't think anyone sees it. Sigh. It's too cute not to be seen!

I'm A Designer (In My World)..

I know I'm getting far too involved in this, that my blog is looking a little too much like a digiscrap blog than the place Stacey hangs out in, but I need to show this! I've created my first page from scratch, the elements, the paper, the whole shebang! Even the paper design. I didn't download a thing! If it wasn't on my Photoshop template, then I made it up myself! This really is meant to be a small child's birthday, but I haven't scanned any of Niki's little girl birthday photos yet.

So, being the small child I can be, I put me there instead. But you get the idea, right? Is this dang cool or WHAT????!!! Look at that cupcake--I cut the cherry off, recolored it and pasted it right back on.
(Don't answer if it's not dang cool, because then I'll have to email you all my photos and layouts and stuff until you say it!)

It Calls Me.....

I worked late late last night and woke early this morning to finish for deadline, but I didn't worry much--I'd make up for it later and take a quick nap after homeschool. But the digiscrapping. The digiscrapping! It calls me, guys. I'm serious, I can hear it from the kitchen..."Stacey...Stacey...come, build, drop shadows and bevel with me.....Stacey...no, no nap, four hours is sufficient for a real scrapper. Are you a real scrapper or not?"

Oh heck yes I am! I want to be a REAL scrapper. I want to halftone, I need to smudge, crop, turn stuff into chrome, and oh.my.goodness...I've discovered brushes! Four hours is good. Because I'm a real scrapper gal. I can type, I can keep up with my Bible reading, I can make appointments I fully intended to keep, I can type, clean..uh, I can type, and I can digiscrap with the best of them.

So...without further adieu, check it out (this time with credits, thanks, Jami!): *Pam Lafors Designs--a new fave!

*Cottage Arts Designs, Hope Sentiments with the flower from Computer Scrapbook.

*Sweet Digiscraps (Manic Monday)--this gal can rock.
