What? It's Not Friday Yet??? Ahh Well...Happy Throwback Thursday!

This was the wedding of a gal I went to college with. I believe I had just turned 20, but could be 19. I think 20, though, for some reason. We lost touch with each other but I put this up to show you how ahead of my time I was. I wore black to a wedding. At that time, it wasn't very accepted yet. But...I was on my own by that time and that was the only nice dress I owned!

If you want to play, here's go see the Pinks & Blues Girls (they're amazing!)

My Workspace Video & Got Some More Little Blue Drinks.....

Dawn showed a video of her workspace on her blog...it was reeeeal organized. And I thought it was cool enough to steal and put one on my blog. She thinks I'm techno-challenged and I am the girl who will jump over the bridge when dared--so I made the video. I hate my voice on videos quite a lot but it's fun to hear different accents. I've heard Jane's in Rhode Island and now Dawn's in New Hampshire--and they're too cute! I contend the midwest is the voice of the world--you don't hear accent here, we sound like the people on TV sound! So that's my criteria--my voice sounds most like the General Hospital crew. Gotta warn you, my voice is loud on this dumb thing, so turn your volume down (sorry!).

Memarie Lane (Marie) handed me about the cutest award out there! If you clicked on the video, you know who I gave it to. Thanks, my new blogfriend, Marie, you are a hoot, by the way! If you really wanna know what she thinks about in the movie theater, head over! Alright, I'm off to another dive meet. Then home. Then dinner. Then typing and HOPEfully I will get to watch Monk and Psych. No, scratch that--I WILL make time for that because it's been far too long! Marie, I think you might like those shows! Hope your weekend brings you happiness!

Throwback Thursday Time..............

Pinks & Blues Throwback Thursday:

Somewhere about 1983. Jamee, my big sister, was the captain of our basketball cheerleading team (and football; she was like that!). That's her, second from the front. Go down one, two and ta dah! That's me--turned around, doing the family (and team) proud! It's one of my favorite cheer pics because it clearly illustrates my cheerleading routine ability. Jamee was amazing...she could do anything gymnastic, she remembered the cheers, never forgot a routine, even made up a lot of ours. She was excited we were together cheering, and I'm sure frustrated from time to time with my lack of cheer-ability! Me? Excited, heck yes! I think I've shared with y'all that I was on the team the first time because one of the girls broke her leg. I was the next alternate. Didn't have a THING to do with that leg! Geesh, why does everyone ask? I did want the outfits, how cute were they?--that and the pom poms (those are the real Mccoys in the VBS pics--the black and gold ones!). And...the boy I liked was on the basketball team, (remember the lunch pictures from March?) so there was my no better way to keep an eye on him. Or so I thought--didn't have a lot of time to look for him. It took most of my concentration to keep from accidentally hurting one of my cheermates!

Now before I sleep tonight--you're in for a treat. That's right, the Pilot John tee has arrived! So...from cheerleading uniforms to my new contest-entering top. Works for me (oh that's Wednesday, right Gigi?)

Throwback Thursday....Finally Doing It!

For the longest time I didn't think I had anything much to use for Throwback Thursday, then I realized this: the things the Pinks & Blues Girls think are throwback are kinda the things I do have, when MY kids were little. AWWWW! When did this happen?! So....until my mother finally gives in and allows me to have some photos (oh, get yourselves ready for eye candy marathon then!), I still have a few things that kinda 'throw' me! Oh...and before I go on, you should click the P&B link...contest-palooza time! (Gigi, counting on you). Okay:

This is Christmas 1993 at my late father's house, and judging by the paper-winged angel, it was still fashionable to spew blues and mauves on EVERYthing! We lined up the all his girls and all his guys! The first is my little sister Antoinette, Jamee, Me (love the do?), our daughter Niki and of course, Dad. He doesn't appear it in this photo, but this is where that 'whacked' humor comes from...he was a riot! Miss him miss him miss him.

Now guy time: Jamee's husband, Andy; Antoinette's husband Joe; my husband, John, our son Cody and of course, Dad (Gigi, are these your glasses?).

It's still a little bittersweet looking at these pics--those were good days. If you'd told me none of these people except John and the kids would be a major part of my life in eleven years, I'd have looked at you sideways! Still hear from Andy here and there, but he's remarried and they're busy now. I have come to terms with my 'place' and understand it completely, but I miss him, Sarah and Max quite a lot. Maybe I'll blog it later down the road, idk, but I was just telling my dear friend Susan there comes a time when I have to stop and let them be as close to me as they want to be; I just worry the kids will think I've abandoned them. I would jump 1000000 miles up and swing from 10,000 stars to get to them if they needed me.
Don't worry about me, I'm quite fine (see new pic below...brand new!--kids shouldn't leave the camera on the kitchen counter if they don't want mommy taking head shots. Period!), will be back blogging with abandonment soon....been conjuring up some blog rules, blog friend rules, etiquette, that sort of thing. We need this, someone has to say it, so may as well do it, lol.

Monday Monday

I'm a Top Mommma!(barely...falling falling falling..click it and save me!!!!)

Happy Monday! Survived Cody off to camp the first night, but didn't do so well when he called and I when asked if he was getting homesick, said "uh, no Mom, being here is amazing!". Why does that sting a little? I had immediate visions of him, 18 years old, bags packed, University of Colorado hoodie on, getting into his car (it's a Mustang Cobra in my vision--black!) and blowing me kisses goodbye. And it's just not that far away! If any of my three kids go far away, it'll be Cody. And if he does, next to his happiness I'll pray for him to return to live nearby. I don't ever want to think of any of my kids going so far .

Looks good for Niki's new job--she's finally getting a few more hours, so hooray! Maybe she can put that hand back in her pocket where it belongs. She's become a very high maintenance little girl--whereEVER did she get it from?
Alex....easy. Give him a bowl of something to eat and pop in an Andy Griffith or Bewitched and watch his face light up...he's happy happy happy! He promises never to leave home, he's going to be an animal petter at the shelter and save enough money to buy a mansion that we can all live in together. Now that's one practical little redhead!

Get over to Pinks & Blues for the bling thing giveaway....all you need to do to enter is think of your favorite blog name and share it. If nothing else, it's a lot of fun to read. I think when I have a little time I'll click on a few and check them out myself.

Me, lots of typing today, but hopefully a lighter load the rest of the week. My bff Kelly is coming to town Thursday...again--gasp! Two visits in less than a month! She bought herself a nice new car, so she's all about zippin up and down that highway now, lol. Think I'll take her to our town's hole in the wall for a late birthday linner!
