Weird-O Tag Time

Part two of Shana's post today--the 7 things tag!

Shana laid out rules, and it said I have to link to her, the tagger (so now you have to link to me, the tag-ee turned tagger...you have to, it's the rule, don't make me say 'ahhhmmmmmmmm, I'm telling!'). Then I have to list seven weird things about myself. And tag seven others. She says I have to let them know they've been tagged, too. Geesh, this could be an ongoing even throughout the day for me!

Okay, the seven weird things about me--this is hard because if I thought I was doing something weird, I wouldn't do it, would I? It's kind of subjective, so let me know if it's not weird enough, I can try harder.

  1. My late father's name was James. My late sister's, Jamee. It wasn't until I was out of high school that I ever realized she was named after him--it didn't click! (Personally, I think it's weird nobody mentioned it at home though, idk)

  2. If I've had a particularly rough day and I'm feeling very sorry for myself, I grab Winnie The Pooh from the cabinet and sleep with him. It's a comfort from the safe childhood days. (I have a very good reason for posing with a scarf around my head holding Winnie, don't I Kelly! Right Kell? Kelly?)
  3. I have ongoing lower back pain that began while sledding with my friends at night down a hill off the side of the road in our town. My boyfriend Charles and I sledded right down the hill, right THROUGH the bonfire and went airborne and landed with a thud on my tailbone.

  4. I've never had my nails done, I rarely even file and paint them. Most of my friends do, I just don't know why I don't pull it together. Partly because I type too much to have long nails, partly because I'm lazy, and partly because they'll only be stuck down a toilet within the day anyway.

  5. I cut my own hair, and go in about once a year for an 'adjustment'. And I have two nieces who are in the business, I just don't go. If I see an issue, I grab my handy dandy barber scissors and chop chop chop! Angie, if you're reading this, it might be time soon to take care of that mullet-looking thingy again. I'll call.

  6. I heart Tab, but you already knew that. But I do! And I have ordered more and have 27 cans here at home with me.

  7. If I'm cooking something that calls for Worcester sauce, I always down a tablespoon or two for myself too. Is this wrong?

I have seven people to tag and I'll go ahead and name names, but I'll have to link later on, I need to get to the classroom. I'm tagging:

Misty Dawn

Cat

Jami

Mom Lady (Wendy)

Misplaced Midwesterner (Kim)

Coming To A Nursery...(Dawn)

And Island Life (Kailani)

Make the weird things very very weird, I need to feel better about myself.

**Niki is home today. We are far from out of the woods, and I think we need your continued prayer even moreso now. Because I believe this is a defining time for the rest of her 'teenaged' years and her relationship with us. Praying for my wisdom and my patience might be good.

It's All About The Trophy Case Smile!

Shana gave me a job to do the other day. I get to accept a very happy award, the You Make Me Smile! award. Merci, Shana! Vous me faites sourire aussi, la petite amie! The other day when I read this, I snapped a quick acceptance shot. As you can see, I'm not at all prideful about it. And as always quite excited to build up the trophy case humbled by this award!

I adore the looks of this little fella, HE makes me smile. He's colorful, he's retro, he's happy, he's all that. So, little smiley-faced happy guy, I lift my tiny little blue cocktail in honor of you!
I'm going to send this onto Angelawd because I laughed a little louder than even I'm comfortable in the room with when I read I'm A Gym Dork. She and I could be dear gym-sisters, I need to go back through my history and see if I've shared my "Stacey can't talk and walk on a treadmill" story. I'm sure my little sister wouldn't mind reliving it again!

Also, giving our happy fellow to Ms. Can't Be Wrong, the Ode to Jen/Gi tickled me all day long! I'm not sure if you didn't know Jen/Gi it'd be funny, but a song about a girl who grew up in travelling missionary world, who sports a hillbilly twang, who enjoys the word Heyhoo (I don't think her def of heyhoo and mine are the same, so I let it slide), and who says at least three time in any given conversation "Okay, here's the deal" or "Okay, here's the deal-io" is a good little song.

Jen/Gi, formerly GiGi, used to blog at Girl Gone Wild Biblestyle. But being the good girl she is, she figured some people may not get that she's not wild. (You're not?) She didn't want to be considered wild (no coal-throwing girl would be!) so she switched it over to 86753oh9 in honor of the Tommy Tutone song of our 80s past. And I play the song in my head. Much better, JenGi. For A Good Time, Call......When I hear that, I think thoughts of Monopoly with Jen/Gi. Laughter, sledding, linking arms and skipping along a trail. That's what I think of when I hear For A Good Time Call. And Jen/Gi I've got your number.

*There's a part two of this award, a tag meme. But I figure because I took so long spreading smiles and toasting my friends, I'll come back to it tomorrow or Friday. Thanks, Shana, again. I think you're one amazing woman. If I'd known you when I myself was a young mom, I'm thinking my kids might have had more fun--more days with paints and more days with play-doh, more days riding bikes up and down the sidewalk. You'll never be sorry you went to the trouble. This I am certain of. xo
**Updated on John...thanks so very much for your prayers, they are working. I saw him last night along with Cody. He was still hurting but much better. Good enough to try to make me jealous of another guy who comes to visit him, Bob. He loves to tell me when Bob was there. So apparently Bob showed up yesterday and John said "I gave Bob a hug" and he looks up at me with what Cody so accurately described as his "smiling face" and waited for me to feign jealousy. And of course I didn't let him down. He loves that game. I love that man. And I don't know why this is yellow, but you know, it works for me!

Do Caramel Apples Go With This Award?

My simply adorable friend Shana posted that there was some love for me on her blog. I run over there as fast as my fingers will click and commence reading, ready to snatch that blog award upp! I see the MOST adorable little award with little jack-o-lanterns and carmel apples and think 'ohhhhhhh that's so cute! Shana thinks I'm sweet!' (and I do kind of giggle at that, btw). Reading what it means, blah blah blah, scrolling down, giving it to someone I don't know..blah blah..keep scrolling....and there it ends and another award begins (she's pretty popular, I ride her coattails, sounds like cocktails!). Okay, no apples for me. What then?

I am an official five time recipient of the Totally Fabulous Award! Sounds very important, wouldn't you say? It blows me away, to be honest--I love that my good friends love to come over and hang out with me. And they bring the little tiny blue cocktails with them--how dang good does it get? Not much dang gooder!
I did tell Shana to come over, but bring some of the caramel apples too. We don't want to drink too quickly--they might be tiny, but trust me they pack a whallop! (Am I developing a blue cocktail-drinking reputation here? I don't mind, I just wonder, that's all!) Shana...I'm waiting...where are the apples? My little cocktail is long gone and I'm holding yours. Shana? Shana? Strike that...yours is history now too. Sorry. Would you EVEN believe it if I told you my church is a Baptist church too? Don't tell a soul at the church--they'd never believe it (that I'd accept drinks from people I haven't met in person). Okay, they would. They would believe it. In fact they probably they would expect it.
I'm totally giving this to Marie and I just checked and she beat me to the comments--so Marie, one can NEVAH have enough of these, you get another. I think you're adorable and totally fabulous! (I just hopped over there to grab her link and about fell out of my chair laughing. Want a different perspective on a sick family? She's got a good one!)

I just assumed Dawn woulda had this award because she's all famous and stuff so I didn't give it to her any of the times I've had it...and Dawn I'm sorry! Because like I told you, if ever I thought a someone would make a great blue drink drinking buddy, it'd be you my friend. You should have had this award weeks ago--thump me later, okay--people are watching now. (LOL yeah it is hard to type after all those little drinks but I'm dedicated to my blogging craft. You know that. I do it because I must.)
