Jamee's Birthday Photo Tribute

Today, Jamee would have been 43 years old...so it's fitting I break my 2 week JameeForever posting slump with a little photo tribute for her, still as much an important part of my everyday life as she if she were still here on earth. I've got some special photos for you---my mother purchased a scanner and has graciously been scanning family photos for me and emailing them. I'm trying very hard to get as many as possible put into layouts for a nice photobook...the first ones I haven't yet gotten finished.

I hope I have more family photos to share with you over this year, I'm thrilled to have these and some of my teenaged years I never had before. (Mom, can you send more of those?!) But this is Jamee's day...and a day to celebrate the wonderful impact that she left in my life--it runs deep and never-ending.

Six Years Later--I have Not Forgotten

Alex had his root canals today, it was a last minute appointment, so I didn't get the chance to do this this morning. So many changes over the past six years, I'm still processing it all.

No worries, I couldn't do a handspring then and I won't attempt one when we meet again, either. Jamee was the talent. I just thought the uniforms were cute.

Ultimate Blog Party Stop

Hi! This is my entry to the Ultimate Blog Party--welcome to Jamee Forever! I'm Stacey a self-professed 80's girl, married to John for over 19 years and mom to Niki (18), Cody (16) and Alex (10)! We also claim Louie our very old, cuddly Basset Hound, Boo the black cat, Jack-O-Lantern the orange cat and GiGi the fluffy foofy cat who lives up to her name! The nine of us live almost smack dab in the middle of the USA in Lee's Summit, Missouri. (I say Missouree)

If you're new, you'll note my name doesn't match my blog's name. When I was thinking of my blog, the direction of my blog and its name, I knew I would somehow include a small tribute to my beautiful late sister, Jamee. When I said goodbye to Jamee I said goodbye to my loudest cheerleader, to my best friend, and to my sister who was among the few people I am certain always wanted me to have an amazing life.

I'm a home school mom to Alex, who is in the fourth grade..this is our first year and I sure am learning a lot!! ;) There are a group of home data entry keyers from my town and we affectionately dub ourselves the Data Entry Queens. I do this at night....or early early in the morning, depending on what sidetracked me! I like to sew and I'll try just about any craft given the opportunity.

My church family is a big bright spot in my life and I consider myself fortunate to be part of their group. We've done many different studies over the years, including A Purpose Drive Life, and they were all amazing. Yet one day last year our church decided 'hey, why not just read the Word?'. Through that MiracleWord.net was born and people all over the country are reading Scripture together. Feel free to jump in right now, start at Ruth...you won't get bored, that's a guarantee!

I'm diving into the world of digi scrapping and cannot get enough! I've even opened a new blog so my friends here don't get downright sick and tired of hearing about it. Many of our family photos have been scattered around the country over the years and I'm not sure I'll ever get to see some of them again. I think that was a big part of the digi scrap draw for me....that and it's therapeutic.

Alright, enough about me, I want to know you! I'm off to some parties--I hope you'll say hi if you're here and even more, I hope you'll come again! And again! And againnnnnnnn!

Throwback Thursday----Wayyyy Back!

January 1969....Jamee is on the left, thoroughly enjoying herself. Well I can see why! Note she, being the big sister, has claimed most of the good stuff (they didn't make much back then) for herself! This is the kitchen set I remember so well. Not the Little Tykes of today, and I giggle when I see all the sharp edges moms would faint at the sight of now. Even moreso, check out the outlet on the wall! Those were days when outlet covers weren't a common item. We never shocked ourselves (just our parents)! **Aquarius was a Number One in 1969.

It Was Fall Chilly Yesterday......

So I grabbed my favorite hoodie and pulled it over my head. I don't wear this one often anymore, one or two times a year. But hands down it's my favorite! It's getting worn at the elbows; rather than just toss it, I wear it gently. I took a photo of the hoodie yesterday just in case something happens to it. Throwing it out isn't an option, I need to have this one forever. Why?

It facilitated the last laugh Jamee and I shared. In the hospital. It's a long story
that doesn't belong here, but I'll tell you this: When she thought about what she'd just said, she looked at me for a long moment. I stared back at her, not sure what to make of it. Then I saw her lips curl up until she was smiling the Poirier girl smile all three of us sisters were born with. And we laughed ourselves right back to the tears we were accustomed to by then. After that moment, there weren't many more times her true Jamee personality revealed itself.

When I put on my Eastern 99, I know I need to be extra nice that day. It might sound silly, but it makes perfect sense. Jamee has been gone five years. She was four years younger than I am now. But it doesn't matter, because she's by big sister and I fully expect her to take on that role again when we meet. And I don't ever want to get the Eastern 99 look again!
